What is a Sangeet?
The Sangeet is where the party really begins! The word “Sangeet “ means music, but it is also used as a term to describe a celebratory event during an Indian wedding. ‘Sangeet’ translates to ‘music night’ or ‘musical party’. This musical night is a celebration of the union of not only the couple but the bonding of both families.
What is the program?
The Sangeet is a night full of entertainment. The friends and family of the bride and groom enact dances, skits and all sorts of performances. The bride and groom might even do a special dance!

Our Sangeet Night will take you on a journey through the decades of India’s vibrant Bollywood history of cinema with its riveting fashion styles and music. From the 50s to the present, we will bring you the classical moves of the legendary actress, Rekha to the sizzling steps of Kareena, and everything in between. Join us for a hip-shaking, musical walk down memory lane!
Music and dance: Immerse yourself in Bollywood music – a fusion of various dance forms with ethnic and western influences. At the time of its inception, classical Indian dance forms ruled. As time passed, public tastes changed with the evolution of music and dance globally. Get ready to join in the tunes from the 50s to contemporary times!
Fashion:
Come dressed as your favourite celebrity, fashion icon or as a statement of the Bollywood decade you love most. Ever since the advent of Hindi cinema in the 1930s, Bollywood and fashion have gone hand in hand. Have fun with hairstyles, accessories and clothing – from regal floor-length anarkalis or Patiala pants paired with long t-shirts, sweaters draped over shoulders, colourful lenghnas to the peeking waistband.
